J & R Bottling and Distributing, Inc. a family owned and operated business was established in 1972 by Ralph Santora. Ralph is a third generation soda pop man starting his career with Pepsi Cola of NY as did his grandfather and father before him. In 1960, Ralph believed their was greater opportunity for selling soda year-round in California, so he moved his family out west and continued working for Pepsi. Shortly thereafter, he bought a delivery truck and started his own business reaching out to small “Mom & Pop” stores.

In 1970 as his distribution business grew, Ralph recognized that there was something missing from the delicatessens in California. That was Dr. Brown’s Kosher sodas. He acquired the rights to produce Dr. Brown’s from Mr. Honickman, owner of the brand and began producing at the Nu-Grape Bottling Plant in Montebello, CA. In 1972, Ralph bought the bottling plant and while continuing to distribute various brands, began to build up the co-packing business. Today, the bulk of our business is co-packing with exclusive distribution of Dr. Brown’s 12 oz. glass bottles and 1 liter PET bottles.

Today, the family tradition continues to thrive at J & R Bottling and Distributing, Inc. with Ralph at the helm and his daughter Mariann serving as his as his right-hand person. Through four generations of hard work and integrity, we are still here and happy to accommodate your beverage and bottling needs.
