BOTTLING 101
Ever wonder how a bottle of soda is made?

It takes 6 steps to make the perfect batch of soda and here’s how we do it.
We have five tanks are available to hold more than 50,000 lbs. each of sugar and high fructose corn sweetener (HFCS). Sweetener comes in various forms including inverted cane sugar, 42 HFCS and 55 HFCS which we provide. We can work with other sweeteners, i.e., sucralose, dextrose, stevia, etc. but the customer must provide these items.
Water is piped in to the water treatment system which consists of two carbon and sand filters. The clean, purified water is then pumped through a micron filter polisher to remove any remaining particles.
A total of 11 stainless steel mixing tanks in two syrup rooms give us the ability to accommodate various size production runs with multiple flavors. This ensures expedient change over from one flavor soft drink to another.
J & R has two high speed fillers that allow for maximum flexibility.
Line #1 is fitted with a 52/12 Meyer filler, crowner (twist and pry off metal crowns) and an Alcoa capper (plastic and ROPP aluminum caps). With this Alcoa capper, we can run 28mm and 38mm bottles/closures.
Line #2 is fitted with a Crown Cork and Seal 72 valve filler, crowner and Alcoa capper. This Alcoa capper can run 28mm plastic and ROPP aluminum caps.
We feature three types of labeling. Full wrap, poly film roll fed labels using a B&H Labeler, full wrap paper or poly cut and stack using a Krones Canmatic Labeler and a spot, cut and stack paper label using a Krones Topmatic. Finished products can be packed many ways including open case, closed case or trays with shrink wrap. All pallets are hand stacked to the customer’s preference.
